Drawing Out a Winning Strategy

December 16, 2022

Merrick Prep’s last House Cup Competition of 2022 was an afternoon of rousing fun playing good, old-fashioned “Pictionary”. Not only is this classic game a blast, but it's also a great way to boost your vocabulary, communication skills, and illustration techniques.

The rules of the game are simple: Players of each House take turns drawing pictures based on given prompts, with their teammates guessing what the image is meant to represent. However, don't let the simplicity fool you - Pictionary can be an incredibly challenging and gratifying experience. Not only does it force our students to think on their feet and come up with creative ways to communicate, but it also helps them hone their drawing skills as they try to convey their ideas through sketches.

All three Houses put up a good fight, but it was clear from the start that the Rickers House team had what it takes to win. They worked together effortlessly, communicating and cooperating with each other perfectly. It was no surprise that they won the final challenge of the year; their teamwork and communication skills were simply unbeatable.

Great job, Rickers House!
